Along the South Coast of South Africa lies one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world, home to the Garden Route National Park.

The Garden Route is considered to be one of the top recommended road trips to do when visiting South Africa.  Almost all visitors to Cape Town who have at least an extra four or five days to stretch their explorations within the Western Cape include a trip to the South Coast (Tsitsikamma National Park, Knysna, Wilderness)

Along the South Coast of South Africa lies one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world, home to the Garden Route National Park.

The Garden Route National Park protects a string of natural jewels along its south-eastern coast.  One would need a lifetime to experience all the region has to offer – adventure, hiking, loafing on beaches, paddling the silver lakes.

The Garden Route is known as the Eden of the Western Cape that stretches from Mossel Bay to the Storms River bordering the Eastern Cape.  There are several routes and means of transportation that one can take when departing from Cape Town.  The quickest route would be to depart from Cape Town International for a flight to George Airport, situated in the heart of the Garden route, alongside Knysna (renowned for it’s enchanted forests).  Other alternatives would be to travel by road via the Route 62 (inland) via Oudtshoorn or via the partial coastal route towards Mossel Bay, or by Rail (The classic Rovos Rail Train or The Modern Blue Train- both with set scheduled departures from Cape Town or visa versa).

It was and still is a very popular trend to hire a car or take a rail or scheduled seat in coach tour departing from Cape Town to explore this scenic journey filled with adventure activities straddled between lush mountains and dramatic Ocean tides.

The Garden Route is very popular amongst tourists and local South Africans due to its captivating craggy mountain passes, long stretches of coastal sandy and dramatic rocky beaches that hold a plethora of adventure activities fit for the young and elderly.  Pristine golf courses to river rafting and surfing spots are in abundance within this famous stretch of coastline along the Whale/South Coast.
