Nestled in the historic and picturesque Franschhoek Valley, one of South Africa’s oldest settlements.

The main house at Chanteclair is a tastefully converted farmhouse, situated in an exquisitely landscaped and tranquil garden setting, offering luxurious accommodation and delicious breakfasts.

The pleasure of being able to overnight in an Auberge surrounded by fragrant gardens and it’s very own vineyards says it all. Experience the panoramic views of the Franschhoek Valley and the opportunity to see the diverse local bird life. The Franschhoek Valley is renowned for wine making and at Chanteclair, the production of their very own Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Malbec is a further treat.

Franschhoek is surrounded by majestic mountains and the views from the front stoep (verandah) and terraces are outstanding. These magnificent mountains provide a superb backdrop for a glass of wine in the evening, before heading into the village to dine at one of Franschhoek’s many highly acclaimed restaurants. Chanteclair is five minutes from the centre of Franschhoek, known as the gourmet capital of South Africa.

The main house has four double or twin rooms and two separate detached units, namely, Vine Cottage and The Studio.

The rooms in the house are named after the trees adjacent to them in the garden, Jacaranda, Cork Oak, Prunus and Syringa. All the rooms are en suite, some have a fireplace or under-floor heating and all have superb views either to the vineyards or the mountains.
