Light, airy and spacious, with either a single king-sized or two single beds, each of Chongwe River Camp’s nine standard tents is equipped with enough luxuries to ensure an exceptional stay in the bush.

Cotton linens, local textiles and hand-crafted furniture blend seamlessly with organic fittings and fixtures, all designed to make the most of what Mother Nature has provided, including the incredible views.

All of the tents are under thatch, ensuring maximum coolness in the heat of the day and feature ceiling fans and charging points.  Each tent has a large, shaded outdoor bathroom with hot and cold running water, shower, toilet, vanity unit and dressing area with a wardrobe and full-length mirror.

The tents also have their own private verandah’s overlooking the river, making them an ideal place for relaxation and contemplation of Africa’s wonderful wilderness.

The Albida suite is a luxurious self-contained colonial-style tented suite which sleeps Four guests in two spacious, octagonal bedrooms set on either side of a private dining room and lounge area with its own bar fridge, plunge pool and fire pit. It is ideal for families or friends travelling together.

Its decor combines colourful African textiles with Victorian-style silverware, rich hardwoods and plush, overstuffed couches.  Bedrooms feature either a king-sized or two single beds with crisp, percale cotton linen, plush throws and an overhead fan.  Outside bathrooms, laid out beneath their own tented canopy, have twin vanity units, shower, ball and claw bath and toilet.

The Albida Suite has its own butler, and meals can be taken either in private in the suites dining area or at the main camp.

The Cassia Suite is a private, luxury tented suite for Two on the banks of the Zambezi.  It is built in the same style as the Albida Suite, but differs in that it only has one tent, designed for two people. Consisting of a canopied lounge and dining area with private plunge pool and fire pit and huge octagonal bedroom, it’s perfect for honeymooners or romantic couples.  The tent is surrounded by a series of stone walls form the lounge area and the individual bathroom.

A fusion of organic and colonial decor, the bedroom has either a king-sized or twin beds with crisp, percale cotton linen, luxurious furnishings and an overhead fan.

Set beneath its own tented canopy, the outside bathroom features a ball and claw bathtub, intimate rainfall-style shower, twin vanity unit and toilet.

The Cassia Suite has its own butler and meals can be taken either in private in the suite’s dining area or at the main camp. It can be booked separately or in conjunction with the Albida Suite.
