NEIGHBOURHOOD … Herodion Hotel is situated in the heart of one of the most elegant and residential blocks of Athens, on the doorstep of the new Acropolis Museum. It is surrounded by small art museums, galleries, jewellery museum, cafes and restaurants. Just below the famous pedestrian street of Dionissiou Aeropagitou under the sacred Acropolis cliff, beautiful residential peaceful blocks, houses of Athenian neoclassical style, the Spanish Embassy, the Finish, Swedish and Norwegian Cultural Institutes.
LOCATION: The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, next to the new Acropolis Museum, right at the foot of the entrance to the Acropolis, below the Herodion theater and the “Plaka”, the old quarter of the city known for its charm and affordable shopping & dinning. The area around the hotel is one of the most peaceful and quiet spots in the city and yet it is situated just a 15 minute walk from the central square of Syntagma and the Parliament building.
Herodes Atticus theater is located at the foot of the Acropolis, where the famous summer festival takes place with theater, dance and opera performances from both Greek and International Companies. The cool summer breeze, the performances together with the breathtaking presence of the illuminated Acropolis, is a unique experience. Plaka is world famous for its quaint small turn-of-the-century houses and busy pedestrian-only streets, where one can get away from the busy city center and stroll right into the past.
The service is attentive and the 90 guest rooms are tastefully attractive, some with spectacular views of the Acropolis, and are well equipped with modern facilities. By focusing on the highest possible service standards and by offering an environment of discreet luxury and comfort, the Herodion promises to make even the shortest stay a unique and memorable experience.
A few of the hotel rooms have spacious bathrooms with rails for handicapped guests. Most of the rooms have private balconies and some with breathtaking views of the Acropolis. Room Service is available from 08:00 a.m. till 01:00 a.m. All room arrangements come with complimentary rich American Buffet breakfast at the hotel’s main Restaurant.

Dishes are authentic, with an emphasis on simple presentation and flavour through quality ingredients. Using seasonal produce, chef Manolis’ highlights include, Chicken bites in parmesan cheese crust dressed with Chef’s lemon chutney, Mediterranean Shepshead dressed with rustic sauce.
There is no set protocol on ordering from the menu; instead dishes are designed with the concept of sharing in mind, while arrange of finger food is also offered.

THE BAR … Wing armchairs, chesterfield and modern sofas, a small library and a fire-place is where one may enjoy coffee or tea, homemade suits or even a light snack.

THE ROOF GARDEN … The roof terrace is an experience in itself: The Athenian sky, the Acropolis hill, the Parthenon and the Museum exhibits from the top floor. Order a drink from the lobbybar, or a meal and it will be served at the terrace at your convenience.

During the summer and early autumn months the beautiful terrace offers an alfresco location for up to 80 guests. Foodies and revellers can enjoy a variety of seating options including a communal dining-table, relaxed lounge chairs or intimate table arrangement all set so as to capture the spectacular views.

THE ATRIUM RESTAURANT … The ATRIUM’s Greek Bistro chefs Manolis Mavrigiannakis and Chef Marios Pirpiridis propose a menu that urge you to revisit culinary staple and ends up being a lesson in Greece’s gastronomic geography.
The Bar is in a beautiful setting with intimate atmosphere, decorated with fine antiques, Greek works of art, rustic walls, wooden ceiling, parquet floors, wood burning fireplace and cozy overstuffed chairs. A setting that has a touch of a fine personal residence, warm, and elegant.
Both in the Restaurant and at the Atrium coffeeshop you may taste classic international selections and the creations of our chef from the modern Greek cuisine.
